New possibilities of open offices and co-working spaces

Eight Estonian open offices and co-working spaces are launching a collaboration experiment – giving active and often moving around startups and freelancers an opportunity to work in their usual environment all over Estonia. Cross-using of the office facilities will be possible for members of co-working spaces until the end of year 2018.

Increasing number of companies and positions are not related certain location. Allthough moving around, enterpeneurs need a friendly work environment now and then, and caffe or bench in the park is not enough. „People do move around – this is their way. Actually it is quite logic, that we are open for our clients in several locations. Estonia is so small, so this kind of involment and making our services available in several cities, is just another logical step for Estonian startup community,“ said Martin Goroško, a head of Tehnopol Incubator.

The experiment should give an input for more closer cooperation between hubs in order to provide local and foreign startup founders and digital nomads with better service – give all the mobile people an opportunity to work in their usual environment in different cities in Estonia. Unicorns should grow where-ever it is suitable for them.

Jana Pavlenkova, launcher of Narva Loomeinkubaatori OBJEKT and CEO of prototyping fund Prototron added, that engineers and inventors, meaning cool companies and startups are not founded only in Tallinn. “These 6 years, we have worked with Prototron teams, have shown, that starting enterpeneurs want to use working environment, where they are supported and where they can meet people, how share their way of thinking. I cant wait to see, how startuppers from Narva and Hiiumaa are working side-by-side and another unicorn is the result of this work,“ she said and noted:“Unicorns are born and raised where it is most convenient at the time!“

Until the end of this year, cross-using of the office facilities will be possible for members of co-working spaces. There are 8 offices joining the experiment: Science Park Tehnopol, Spring Hub, Workland and Creative Incubator in Tallinn, Forwardspace in Pärnu, sTARTUp Hub in Tartu, Edukontor in Kuressaare and Creative incubator OBJEKT in Narva.

All the contracting members of the above-mentioned hubs will be able to work in other offices until three days per month without paying extra.
